Cookie Policy
The short version
Safe Trip does not currently set any cookies on your device. Because of that, we do not display a cookie consent banner, under the EU ePrivacy Directive (the “cookie law”) consent is only required when non essential storage is involved. We don’t use any.
Why we’re cookie-free
We use Plausible for analytics, which is intentionally cookieless: it counts page views in aggregate using ephemeral, salted hashes that rotate daily, and does not track individuals across visits. We do not run advertising trackers, social-media pixels, session replay, or behavioural advertising scripts.
What may change
When we launch features that genuinely require cookies (a logged-in account, a saved trip planner, fraud prevention on payments), we will:
- Use strictly-necessary cookies only for those features (session, CSRF, payment-fraud), which the ePrivacy Directive and ICO/CNIL/CNPD guidance treat as exempt from prior consent.
- Add a cookie banner only if we ever introduce non essential cookies (e.g., personalised analytics, A/B testing). The banner will offer a clear “reject all” option that is as prominent as “accept all.”
- Update this page and the changelog in advance.
Browser controls
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Because we don’t set any, this will not affect how the site works for you.
Third-party services you click through to
When you click an external link (a government advisory, a source publisher, an affiliate partner), that third-party site may set its own cookies under its own policy. We have no control over those.
