Travellers deserve a single answer to “is it safe to go right now?”, synthesised from the world’s primary sources and presented like a modern fintech product, not a tax form. That is Safe Trip.
Editorial principles
- Sources are tiered, never blended in opaque ways.
- Every score component cites its underlying signals.
- Conflicts of interest are disclosed. Affiliate revenue does not affect scoring.
- Corrections are public, within 2 hours of identification.
- Algorithm changes are versioned and announced 14 days ahead for material moves.
- Editorial overrides are signed and time-bound.
- No state actor can lower a country’s score by calling us. Their objection is published alongside.
- AI is allowed for translation and summary; never for primary reporting.
How we make money
Safe Trip is funded by Pro consumer subscriptions (€4 to 9/mo), Safe Trip for Teams (€99 to 2,000/mo), the public API tier, and clearly-labelled travel-insurance + eSIM affiliate links. None of those streams influence the underlying score. We publish a wall between commercial and editorial; if you ever see a country’s score change in a way that benefits an advertiser, that is a bug, please report it.
Reporting issues · /.well-known/security.txtThe brand commitment
We don’t shout about risk. We surface it. Headlines on this site are matter-of-fact. Colours are calm even at high risk, there is no fire-alarm red. The audience pays for calm, not panic.
